Real|Reel Journal are looking for new contributors to write regular articles on film and wider film culture. The text below is taken from our submissions page and goes into a bit more detail about who we think would like to write for us:
We believe that film is more than just an entertainment commodity, it is a cultural object that reflects the society it comes from and creates new relationships with its spectators. Simply writing about how enjoyable a film is only scratches at the surface of film analysis. Reasoned argument is needed to understand and appreciate all film, from the most popular or consumerist to the most artistic or experimental.

We are interested in all writing on film and film culture regardless of its position between the margins and the mainstream.
In order to achieve these ideals we write in a way that is approachable and insightful to all readers. We don’t write straight reviews or academic theses. Instead we incorporate the rigour and research of film academia with the immediacy and conversational style of film journalism.
