Simply writing about how enjoyable a film is only scratches at the surface of film analysis. Reasoned argument is needed to understand and appreciate all film, from the most popular or consumerist to the most artistic or experimental.
In order to achieve these ideals we write in a way that is approachable and insightful to all readers. We don’t write straight reviews or academic theses. Instead we incorporate the rigour and research of film academia with the immediacy and conversational style of film journalism.
